Parent notes / v0.1

Good questions
are part of the build.

This is the working FAQ for CodeABC’s first small workshop. Details marked as planned will be confirmed before registration.

01

Who is the founding workshop for?

The first workshop is planned for a small group of six to eight students ages 12–15. It is for curious young people who want to make something, not only watch a coding demonstration.

02

Does my child need coding experience?

No. The workshop is designed around choosing a small idea, working thoughtfully with an AI coding tool, testing the result, and finishing. Tool and account requirements will be confirmed with parents before registration.

03

What will students make?

Each student will choose a very small project—such as a quiz, study tool, story app, simple game, or personal page—with the goal of leaving with something that genuinely runs and can be shown.

04

Where and when will it happen?

The first workshop is being planned for South Surrey or White Rock. CodeABC will confirm a safe, professional venue, date, pickup process, and required safeguards before accepting registrations.

05

How much will it cost?

The first workshop is a demand test. The owner is reviewing three options—free, CAD $19, or CAD $29—and no option is approved yet. The final price and terms will be stated clearly before a parent registers.

06

How does CodeABC use AI safely?

Students make the decisions; AI is a building tool. CodeABC will review applicable account age requirements, parent consent, publishing consent, and data handling before the workshop. No student project or identifying information will be published without appropriately scoped permission.
